All good music fans know that Ape House was formed in Washington, DC in 2001 when J. Forté got together with bass legend Steve Shook and former Love Slug-ers Gil Hegwood and GP Shook. Drawing in beautiful, sweaty crowds along the East Coast with its unique mix of Byrds-like melody and Ramones-esque energy, the group released one EP and two critically acclaimed full-lengths in its hallowed career.
